£30m Office Block in One-Horse Town
A £30million office development in Glasgow is being named after a famous ... horse.

The Copenhagen Building development, being constructed in Hope Street, is named after Copenhagen, the Duke of Wellington's horse at the battle of Waterloo in 1815.

The development - 53,000sq ft of Grade A office space - faces Glasgow Central Station and the Central Hotel, and falls within the International Financial Services District.

Rob Hill, the developer behind the site, said: "Glasgow's economy is performing strongly and the prospects for continued growth and demand for high-quality office space are encouraging.

"We are very confident in the city and are delighted our funder, Allied Irish Bank, feels the same way."

The Copenhagen Building will open in early 2009, and will feature a display telling the history and story of the Duke of Wellington and his horse.
